Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of certivos.com and of the certificates, verification pages, PDFs, QR codes and badges published by Certivos (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these terms.

1. The Service

Certivos verifies and publishes analytical data for research compounds. Each certificate presents the results of a certificate of analysis issued by a testing laboratory or a manufacturer, after the published values have been checked against that source document.

Certivos does not conduct laboratory testing. Analytical results on a certificate are reported as issued by the testing laboratory or manufacturer named on it. The classification field on each certificate states whether the underlying analysis is independent third-party analysis or manufacturer quality control.

2. Informational use

Certificates are provided for information only. A certificate describes the results reported for the specific batch identified on it. It is not a guarantee of the quality, safety, identity or fitness for purpose of any product, does not apply to other batches, and is not an endorsement of any product or company.

Compounds referenced on certificates are for in vitro laboratory research use only and are not for human consumption. Nothing on the Service is medical, legal or regulatory advice.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• alter, forge or misrepresent a Certivos certificate, verification page or badge;
• display a certificate or badge in connection with a product or batch it was not issued for;
• interfere with, overload or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service;
• use automated means to copy the registry in bulk without our written permission.

A certificate is authentic only if its verification page at certivos.com/verify shows the same certificate ID and data.

4. Intellectual property

The Certivos name, logotype, VERIFIED mark, certificate designs, verification badges and the content and software of the Service are owned by Certivos and protected by intellectual property laws. Analytical results remain the work of the laboratory or manufacturer that produced them.

You may link to verification pages and share certificates or their PDFs unaltered. Only companies to which a certificate has been issued may display the corresponding Certivos badge, and only alongside the product and batch it covers. No other use of the Certivos name or marks is permitted without our written consent.

5. Availability

The Service is available worldwide. We aim to keep it available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and we may modify, suspend or withdraw any part of it. Certificates may be corrected, updated or withdrawn; the verification page always shows the current record.

6. Disclaimer

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Certivos makes no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, and does not warrant the accuracy of analytical results reported by third-party laboratories or manufacturers.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Certivos will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of or reliance on the Service or any certificate. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid Certivos, if any, in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

8. Third-party links

Certificates may link to laboratory verification services and other third-party sites. Certivos is not responsible for their content or availability.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Any dispute arising from these terms or the Service will be resolved in the courts of British Columbia, Canada. This choice of law and forum does not limit where the Service is offered, and does not remove any mandatory consumer protections you have under the laws of your country of residence.

10. Changes

We may revise these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated, and continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the revised terms.
